Godliness with contentment.

Changed my template and title. That shall be my theme for this year and the days ahead in my army life.
I was searching on Godliness on Google and came across this great site that is quite analytical in nature. Check it out here.
Skim through the article on Godliness with contentment and found it interesting. Christians like this guy is sure a blessing.
Maybe I will read on in detail the article for in it I believe cover real practical issues on Christian living.
Been going out quite alot these few days, burning lots of money on transport and food outside. Haha. Finally got joey to come Church. He got a really soft heart for God, so pray for him to come forward to be reconciled and start serving.
Its a blessing always to see prayers answered for people around and on myself. All these just increase your faith bit by bit.

Matthew 7:7-8
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

Pass it on-

God is indeed much bigger, loving, caring, sovereign... than we think He is.
It amazing how we just forgotten how to simply say, "God, you alone shall be my strength and comfort"
Yesterday meeting with bro benji and some others from church once again bring about the issue of practical Christian living.

Are to to continue to play church in front of Christian/church friends?
I think accountability is the issue here. God left the holy spirit to be our comforter, our guide in our daily life. At the same time, we have brothers and sisters in Christ to encourage each other through the week. Such encouragement makes my walk with God more rewarding as I see Christ working in people's life.
Therefore its time to get people to be accountable to each other through sms/email during the weekdays to find out more.

Prayer, with actions may be the key to a more rewarding Christian life.
2 Timothy 2:2 is one verse that will always make me move for I always will see myself as the middle man.
2 Timothy 2:2 (NKJV)
And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
We ought to reflect Christ in our daily life, build and exhort one another, doing all in a very practical and not theoretical way.

Being a True Believer

He's working in me both the willing and the doing of His pleasure
With pow'r that hasn't any boundaries.

The past week has been a really 'busy' week. Lots of things when through my mind. Sometimes what I speak or typed may not reflect the true thoughts I may want to express. Yet, typing things out seems closer than speaking without really thinking.
Went joey's house to stay for a few days. Being quite awhile since I contacted him until recently. He just shifted house, I was there and the whole process was interesting.
I wasn't really there when his family shifted, went for the church's bbq session. At his new house, apparently joey brought along lots of unwanted stuffs from his old home and was discarding them only after he moved over. Waste of human resources, haha. His mum was like helping him clear and when clearing some books, joey's bible was there and his mum was like "throw la, no need fake fake, also never read"
I have known joey for a long long time, a very good friend of mine. Though he had strayed off, he still believed in God, and I can just claim on God's promise that God knows his flock and will always chasten them accordingly. There will be a time when he comes back, (Ecclesiastes 3).

There is just this mixture of feelings in me at the change of faces I see in church among the young people. Many have left, strayed or just never attend church again. An once in a while appearance will draw like much attention to people as such. Its always this idea of playing Church which deters and puts me on the guard. My dad always tell me that God require our utmost respect when we go to church. This verse just comes to my mind:
John 4:23-24
But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

God is a serious God. Our business is God's business whenever we are to be an example to each other or to other believers. (in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity).

Sidenote: Saw a lost youth ministry library book in joey's house regarding everything about prayer- Time to be a prayer warrior if I am or you are a true believer in His word and trust God.

Where is the first love?

It really seems God is really really silent.
Lyrics of "When God is silent"
When God is Silent and we don't know
The way before us that we ought to go;
When we've attempted to do His will,
And yet His silence continues still;

Then it's time to trust and Yes, it's time to remember
That the Lord is faithful to his own.
...
For His silence never means that we are alone.

I liked that reassurance of the last sentence. There is just this weird distant feeling I had when I attended church and youth meeting yesterday. The same feeling I had for the week.
I was really comforted during Friday when I went over to joey's house. We had a good talk and I still see God working in ways never will I thought of. My prayer is that he will come back really soon.
Sometimes saying something and really meaning it does not goes together. I have learnt that being thankful and trusting God is not a matter saying it, but by your very actions from then on.
Its a matter of being serious and a right attitude. This is about doing business with God and we all have this responsibility to do it well. Thats why Christian living is never never easy. Cannot just pull the plug when life's circumstances is against you.
Understanding that love will always bind God and us, just as love will intertwine and forms this fellowship between brothers and sisters in Christ.
My main prayer will still be for the church, being always watchful and careful (1 Peter 5:8). I am just fearful of what can happen if things are left unchecked.
God is still good and I really mean it though it all seems silent now.

Matthew 22: 34-40
But when the Pharisees heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

Life's simple pleasure

Do right when you are all alone... This statement has been a struggle for me alone at home. Yet doing right things is always right.

Been quite awhile since I last blogged. Somewhat reluctant I guess.
Last Friday was the release of the A level results. Thank God so letting me pass everything. Didnt do that well, which I had somewhat expected.
My dad was telling me before I went off to school that day that if I really do badly, he will not scold or anything, asking me to retake if can. What a loving father I have despite all the high expectations he had placed one me, being the oldest of the family. Thank God.
Anyway hard work sure pay off when you study for A level. (Something I am guilty of not having consistently). Seen it all in my classmates.

On to the idea of wrong and right, attended bro. yaohe and sis. yaling wedding on Saturday. It was one wedding where God takes center-stage, not the couple, Praise God. There is this simple message shared by a pastor, on a idea of wife never being wrong (may not be the exact words):
1. Your wife is never wrong
2. If you think she is wrong, you seen wrongly
3. Even if you really think she is wrong, and have not seen wrongly, then you must be wrong
4. If she is truly wrong, and she tempts you to do wrong, then you are wrong.

So does being wrong means not right? What is perceived by many as right is right? What is lacking is the moderator which is God. Life's simple pleasure- doing right and being right with God- to be in His will.
1 John 2:15-17
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
