Are we taking sides? -Two more weeks to A's

Today I get to see ( maybe listen to) one of the most heated argument in church regarding the nomination of Uncle Philip to be a deacon. The whole process was way longer than I thought I would be.
You cannot really blame the rules set in the constitution. (a set of rules our church suppose to be govern by as being biblical based, I haven't seen it before though). It all started out as someone in the nomination committee vetoing the nomination of Uncle Philip, which result in his name being excluded in the list of nominees for the post. Apparently it started when reason was asked about the veto and the evidence and proof to support this decision. To cut the story short, there were lots of drama. At one point someone shouting out his view loudly, at another another guy was punching in emotional words to express his thoughts. Not criticising or anything, but this debating seems rather childlike and doesn't reflect Christ in us.
There were however many points in which the members mentioned which I find valid and comforting. Like reading in context verses in the bible for use in edifying and not wrestling of each other. During the saga, Matthew 18 is one chapter quoted repeatedly. There's just too much in the mind action going on, and the best thing is, this nomination got pushed back further to two weeks later. Hopefully no more quarreling just because of problems like this that threaten to break up the unity we have in Christ and as a Church.
Just a link to Uncle Philip and his family's testimony. http://www.bfcministries.com/2006/03/01/the-tan-family/
Seems that he still a deacon (haha never update the website). xD
OK, enough of all this church matters. Two more weeks to A's and I am still not really confident of even getting good marks. Time to really hammer the books. HAHA.

"Dare" to not move- So long to JC life.

The theme for our graduation day, D.A.RE to move. I instead want to post this challenge to ourselves, dare be steadfast and stand firm in life's slippery and uncertain future.
Its the official last day of school and there were just mixed feelings among all the students in school. Indeed it has been a good two years, with me getting to know and understand JC life. I guess I not going to write so long essays like Peter about our class. A sentence to sum our class up: We can do better.
Looking at the issue of moving on in life, I believe life brings to us lots of surprises and challenges, and fulfilment in life comes only when you handle such problems well.
I have been save by grace through faith in the loving mercies of God. I take this chance to even thank God for these two years, for times of fun, for time for sorrow, for time of hope, to time of despair, for opportunities seized, and for opportunities lost, for good natured friends and for friends that always bully me. Now is the time not only to reflect, it is also a time of thanksgiving.
May people in our class just put aside their self-interest and pride in the life they live in the future, for the body is indeed weak in overcoming all troubles and temptations. God Bless CJ and 2T16, press on to A level. :)
